The fine print

Terms and conditions

The plain-English terms we work to. Quotes are estimates until we confirm a price after a site visit, we stand behind our work, and these terms are governed by New Zealand law.

Any price we give before we've seen the job is an estimate. We confirm a firm, fixed price after a site visit. We stand behind the installation work we do, manufacturer warranties cover the units themselves, and these terms are governed by New Zealand law.

Quotes and pricing

Any figure we give you before we've seen the job is an estimate, based on what you've told us. We confirm a firm, fixed price in writing after a site visit, once we've checked the room, the pipe run, where the outdoor unit goes and any electrical work. Until then, the numbers are a guide, not a final quote. Confirmed prices include GST.

The work we do

We install heat pumps to the manufacturer's specifications and the New Zealand Building Code. We service and repair the systems we've installed ourselves. Any electrical work is carried out to New Zealand standards by a suitably qualified person.

Your part

To give you an accurate quote and a tidy install, we need safe access to the property and the areas we're working in, plus honest information about the home. If something on site turns out to be different from what we were told, the price or timing may need to change. We'll always talk it through with you before we carry on.

Our workmanship warranty

We stand behind our work. If a fault comes back to our installation, the pipework, brackets, wiring or commissioning we did, we'll put it right. This covers the installation itself. It doesn't cover the unit, fair wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, or problems caused by a lack of servicing.

Manufacturer warranties

The heat pump unit itself is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, on the terms set by that manufacturer. These warranties usually require the unit to be fitted by a qualified installer and serviced as the manufacturer recommends. We'll point you to the right warranty details for the brand you choose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected with our work is limited to putting the work right or refunding what you paid us for it. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any dispute will be dealt with in the New Zealand courts.
